Former Wisconsin guard tops 247Sports transfer portal rankings

· Yahoo Sports

It's not hard to imagine why former Wisconsin Badgers star John Blackwell is the top guard in the transfer portal.

Visit moryak.biz for more information.

According to 247Sports, Blackwell is the No. 2 overall player in the portal, only trailing Kansas's big man Flory Bidunga.

For Blackwell, there's no shame in being behind a 6-foot-10 forward who was one rebound per game shy of averaging a double-double. In his sophomore season at Kansas, Bidunga averaged 13.3 points and 9.0 rebounds per game.

Blackwell has averaged exactly 5.1 rebounds per game each of his last two seasons. He averaged 15.8 points per game as a sophomore with that total increasing to 19.1 points per game during his junior season.

With one year of eligibility remaining, there's a real chance the Michigan native stays in the Big Ten. That would be a huge blow for the Badgers, but it's impossible to compete with the defending National Champions, a team that just won the title with a ton of notable transfers.

Should Blackwell not pursue the NBA draft, he's the undeniable No. 1 guard in the portal. Blackwell is currently ranked higher than the likes of Juke Harris, Isaiah Johnson, Stefan Vaakas, Jackson Shelstad, among many others.
