The Commodores (19-12, 6-4 SEC) won the first game of the series, 14-8, on April 2. But both teams project to be light on pitching options. Vanderbilt has 14 healthy pitchers but both relievers who pitched in the opener, Brennan Seiber and Tyler Baird, threw over 20 pitches. The 20th-ranked Aggies (23-5, 5-4) have just 11 healthy pitchers who have pitched this season, though outside of starter Shane Sdao, just one threw over 20 pitches in the opener.
In the opener, the two teams combined for 10 home runs, with Vanderbilt's Colin Barczi hitting three of them.
Vanderbilt last played a doubleheader in 2024, getting swept by South Carolina on the road.
