The biggest name participating in the event was wide receiver Makai Lemon. The Biletnikoff Award winner is projected by many to be a first round pick and the first receiver selected in the draft. Despite not being known primarily for his speed, Lemon impressed in the 40-yard dash, running it in 4.46 seconds.
Notably, two of the 18 participants in the event actually did not play for the Trojans this past fall. Linebacker Mason Cobb, whose last year at USC was in 2024, worked out at this year’s Pro Day. In addition, offensive lineman DJ Wingfield, who transferred to USC from Purdue last offseason before ultimately being ruled ineligible by the NCAA, participated.
Of the 18 participants, seven were invited to the NFL Combine a few weeks ago. For the remaining 11, however, this was their primary opportunity to show off for scouts prior to the draft, making the event even more important.
As for the draft, believe it or not, it is just over a month away. This year’s NFL Draft will take place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from April 23-25.
