Cooperstown 3, Clinton 0

Mia Pelcer and Chloe Jubar each had 13 kills as No. 5 seeded Cooperstown beat No. 12 seeded Clinton, 25-22, 25-20, 25-23, in the opening round of the Section III Class C playoffs at Red Bursey Gymnasium on Wednesday, Feb. 4.

Clara Shaw and Juliana Bean had seven kills each for Clinton (7-12).

Cooperstown (13-3) will play a quarterfinal game at No. 4 seeded Sandy Creek on Friday, Feb. 6.

The Comets swept Frankfort-Schuyler on Wednesday, 25-8, 25-12, 25-9.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Bainbridge-Guilford 55, Sidney 51

Emma Kinter scored a team-high 13 points as host B-G won a Midstate Athletic Conference game Wednesday over Sidney.

The Bobcats led at halftime, 25-22, and extended the lead to 44-36 after three quarters.

Bella Conroy scored 18 points for the Sabers, which also got 17 points from Nayla Miley.

Sidney (8-6, 6-2) and Bainbridge-Guilford (16-1, 9-1) will play in the MAC playoffs next week.

Oxford Academy 43, Unadilla Valley 23

Raine Rovente scored a game-high 15 points as Oxford Academy won a Midstate Athletic Conference game Wednesday at UV.

The Blackhawks led at halftime 25-8, after holding the Storm to just one second-quarter basket.

Kora Johnson scored 11 points to lead the Storm, which also got 10 points from Myriah Taylor.

Aubrey Rickard scored eight points for the Blackhawks.

Oxford Academy (10-7, 5-5) plays a non-league game at Marathon on Wednesday, Feb. 11.

Unadilla Valley (3-13, 0-8) plays a MAC game at Sidney on Friday.

Norwich 58, Walton/Downsville 40

Grace Walley scored 25 points and had 14 rebounds, but host W/D lost a non-conference game to Norwich on Wednesday in Downsville.

Brynley Ryan and Josey Ryan scored 16 points for the Purple Tornadoes.

Walton/Downsville (12-4, 7-2) hosts Windsor for a non-league game Monday, Feb. 9.

Sharon Springs 55, Worcester 19

Zarie Barbic scored 23 points to lead the Spartans to a home win Friday over Worcester.

Peyton Barbis scored 10 points and had 10 rebounds for Sharon Springs, which also got 10 points from Molly Parsons.

Sharon Springs (10-6, 1-5) plays a TVL game at Franklin on Thursday, Feb. 5.

Worcester (0-17, 0-7) will play in the Tri-Valley League playoffs next week.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Oneonta 63, Waverly 51, OT

Britten Zeh scored a team-high 20 points, including a three-point basket in the final seconds of regulation as Oneonta won a Southern Tier Athletic Conference non-division game Wednesday at Waverly.

Zeh had 13 of his points in the fourth quarter and overtime. Oneonta outscored the Wolverines in overtime, 17-5.

Maddox Imperato and Brady Carr each scored 15 points for the Yellowjackets.

Braiden Judson scored 16 points to lead Waverly (10-6).

Oneonta (13-3, 4-0) hosts Susquehanna Valley for a STAC East game Saturday, Feb. 7.

Stamford/Jefferson 41, Charlotte Valley 27

Max Eisel scored a game-high 14 points as S/J won a Delaware League game Wednesday in Davenport.

Cole Whitbeck scored nine points to lead the Wildcats, which also got seven points from Tucker Whipple.

Pat Terk scored 13 points for S/J.

Charlotte Valley (7-9, 5-6) hosts Gilboa-Conesville/Roxbury for a league game Friday.

Stamford/Jefferson (11-6, 9-2) hosts Margaretville for a league game Friday in Jefferson.

Gilboa-Conesville/Roxbury 50, Windham-Ashland-Jewett 46

Cody Ciaravino scored a game-high 25 points as G-C/R topped W-A-J in a Delaware League game Thursday in Gilboa.

Payton Dempsey scored 17 points for W-A-J, which also got 13 points from Owen Pellettier.

Blake Albano scored nine points for G-C/R.

Windham-Ashland-Jewett (6-9, 3-7) hosts Hunter-Tannersville for a league game Friday.

Gilboa-Conesville/Roxbury (7-9, 5-5) plays Friday at Charlotte Valley.

New York Mills 65, Richfield Springs/Owen D. Young 60

Shane Dunckel scored a varsity-high of 31 points, but RS/ODY lost a non-league game Wednesday to visiting New York Mills.

Jaden Clifford scored 21 points to lead NYM, which also got 19 points from Ra’id Adams.

Finn Dibble scored 14 points for RS/ODY, which also got 12 points from Owen Oldick.

Richfield Springs/Owen D. Young (3-13, 2-6) hosts Gilbertsville-Mount Upton for a Tri-Valley League game Thursday.

South Kortright/Andes 63, Margaretville 26

Parker Popp scored a game-high 19 points as the Rams completed their Delaware League play with an undefeated record following a win Wednesday at Margaretville.

Robert Sass led the Blue Devils with 10 points.

J.B. Trimbell scored 10 points for the Rams, which also got nine points from Garrett Dropp and Skylar Macintyre.

South Kortright/Andes (15-3, 12-0) will play in the Delaware League Tournament next week.

Margaretville (1-15, 1-10) plays S/J on Friday in Jefferson.
