Wisconsin women's basketball loses Serbian wing Jovana Spasovski to portal

MADISON – The Wisconsin women’s basketball team lost a second player to the transfer portal April 6.

Jovana Spasovski, a 6-foot sophomore wing from Serbia, announced her plan to transfer with two seasons of eligsibility remaining. She shared the news on Instagram.

“My sincere thanks to everyone who made it possible for me to come here and to the entire program for this beautiful experience,” she wrote. “A special thank you to the fans who supported us at any time of the day and every single person who made this experience unforgettable.

“Wisconsin will always be a big and beautiful part of my experience in America.”

Spasovski joins Alie Bisballe, a 6-4 sophomore, as UW players headed to the portal. Monday marked the first day players could enter the portal. For player who want to leave a program, the portal window closes April. 20.

Spasovski played in 54 games for Wisonsin and made one start. She averaged 1.9 points and one rebound per game and two points and one rebound in 34 appearances this season.

With the known departures Wisconsin has four roster spots open for the 2026-27 season.
