A familiar name has returned to the radar of Hervé Renard, head coach of Saudi Arabia as preparations slowly begin for FIFA World Cup 2026.

Renard has often spoken about the lack of regular minutes for local players, a problem that has affected his squad planning.

However this season has seen a clear rise in form from Hattan Bahebri who is now pushing himself back into contention.

Standout display in the Saudi League

Bahebri currently playing for Al-Kholood, delivered eye-catching performance in Saudi Pro League scoring two goal in 2-1 win over NEOM in matchday 24.

According to SofaScore, it was Bahbri’s first league brace in 10 year underlining how special the moment was in his career.

Across the current season, the former Al Hilal player has recorded six goal and four assists in 24 appearance in the league and the King’s Cup making him one of the most productive Saudi players.

Bahebri has not hidden his ambition. Speaking to Thmanyah, he said his main goal is to help Al-Kholood finish as high as possible while also returning to the national team.

The winger made it clear that playing at World Cup remains his biggest dream. He stressed that he respects all players in the squad but believes he has the ability to earn place if he continues to perform well.
