In the fall of 2025, investigators with Halton’s Drug and Organized Crime Unit began a probe into illicit drug trafficking in the GTA, which resulted in a suspect being identified.

On Feb. 9, Halton cops executed search warrants at two locations and an associated vehicle and, as a result, allegedly seized 36 kilograms of opium, 20 kilograms of cocaine and $15,000 – $20,000 of bundled Canadian currency.

The wholesale value of the seized drugs is an estimated $1.5 million dollars.

Aden Zedan, 22, of Toronto, is charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine, opium).

Zedan was held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.

Police committed to disrupting criminal networks

“The results of Project Forge demonstrate our commitment to making the community safer by targeting those who distribute toxic substances, especially opioids into our neighbourhoods,” Halton Regional Police Det.-Sgt. Ryan Eacrett, Regional Drugs and Organized Crime, said in a statement.

“Major drug seizures like this not only prevent potential drug poisonings, they disrupt criminal networks and send a clear message that our investigators will hold those who profit from this harm accountable.”

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to call the Drug and Organized Crime Unit at 905-825-4747, ext. 5331, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
