Fast start helps Stampede roll Sioux City

SIOUX CITY, S.D. (KELO) — The Stampede scored an impressive seven goals in the first period Friday on their way to a 10-4 blowout of Sioux City.

Sioux Falls built a 7-0 lead, before the Musketeers finally scored in the second. The Stampede lead with 8-3 after two.

Sioux City scored seven minutes into the third to cut the deficit to 8-4, but the Stampede went on to score the final two goals, including an empty netter to win 10-4.

Logan Renkowski and Thomas Zoco each tallied a pair of goals in the win. Matthew Grimes, Markus Jakobsen, Tobias Ohman, J.J. Monteiro, Christian Chouha and Ryder Betzold each add a goal.

Stampede goalie Waylon Esche made 24 saves on 28 attempts.

The Herd will host Green Bay on Saturday night at 6:05 p.m.
